About this activity
This course introduces the fundamentals of alternative processes, by focusing on pinhole photography and cyanotype printing each with unique visual properties. Pinhole photography is a simple lens less form of photography where light passes through a tiny aperture (pinhole) in a light tight container to project an image onto photosensitive material. Create your own pinhole camera and develop 2-3 paper images. Cyanotype is a camera-less technique where objects are placed on treated paper, exposed to UV light then developed by rinsing to create signature Prussian blue prints. Learn basic chemistry, exposure methods, and print on a variety of surfaces. The creative potential of these experimental approaches – perfect for those interested in the roots of image-making in photography. See Supply List below. Instructor: Christine Germano
